MLMDon’t be that person using those stupid MLM phrases.

You know the ones.

We can actually get on Facebook right now and look at it. You know, “Lock in your spot. Got a once in a lifetime opportunity.” Really? If I don’t get in today, is the business going to close? Highly doubtful. “Ground floor opportunity,” who cares if it’s ground floor if it’s been around twelve years? In MLM, your first five years, 80% of the companies go out of business anyway, so a ground floor opportunity means zero to somebody who’s been in the business. Do you want to be on the ground floor with an 80% chance of failure? Probably not. If somebody’s been around six, seven, eight, nine, ten, twelve years, they’re probably going to stick around. Sure if you’ve been around 12 years, you can still tank. There are companies doing it right now.

“Fastest growing business” Is it? Compared to what? There are companies that every member or every person that signs up to get a product is now a promoter. Does that make it the biggest and the fastest growing business with promoters? No.

The one that lights my fires, talk about spam. This one is a total spam MLM. “Can I post my link on your page?” You just asked them if you can spam their page. That’s all you did. You didn’t ask them anything else. You didn’t ask them if they liked the business opportunity if they wanted to be involved in your business opportunity. You straight up just said, “Can I spam your page?” Get out of here with that junk. Seriously? Desperation move.

Also, another desperation move is, “I need three more customers. I need three more promoters. I need three more whatever.” Desperation, and it bleeds desperation. You are puking spam desperation.

Another great MLM phrase is, “No more prospect of recruiting.” How do you do business? Look at McDonald’s, one of the world’s largest businesses. Walmart’s one of the largest businesses. Do you see advertisements as prospecting? That’s recruiting. They want you to go to their store. If you don’t prospect or recruit, who’s going to do it for you, and how are you going to get customers? Yes, you can do attraction marketing. Technically, that’s still prospecting, even though they’re coming to you. You’re still prospecting.

“I only have X number of spots left.” Really? Get the hell out of here. Are you going to close the doors? Are you not going to take anybody else? Your business is going to stop growing. You have more spots. You have as many spots as you want. You’re not going to close the damn doors on your store, on your business, on your entrepreneurship.

“Get your spot now.” What if I wait until tomorrow? Are you going to not give me a spot because I waited till tomorrow? Get over it.

This is another good MLM one, yeah. “Product testers wanted.” Well if I want to be a product tester, why am I paying you for it. If you want me to test your product and give you feedback, I’ll pay shipping. I’m not going to pay for the product. That’s not a product tester. It’s called a customer paying for the product. You’re hoping to get a review or a comment back. That’s not a product tester. A product tester is where I give you product, and you try it let me know what you think. Get out of here with the product tester. That’s crap. That’s another amateur move.

I could keep going all day, you guys. Don’t do these stupid things. Make it your business. Make it your content. Make it your brand. You’re in the business for yourself. You’re not building the company you promote or work for. You’re building you. I’m building Zloescher.com. I’m not building Travel Company, a Weight Loss, or Skincare This or That. I’m building me as a business. People that want to get to know me are going to know I can trust me because of what I post, not the garbage phrases I use.

What that adds is zero value. If you guys aren’t providing value daily to your prospects or your potential prospects, or even your customers and your promoters, they’re gone. They’re out. They might try for a month or two. They might stay in three months because they bought a three month’s supply. Other than that, they’re gone. See you. Add value. These phrases, “Once in a lifetime opportunity,” that’s not value. That’s just a catchy phrase that you copied from somebody else, that you’re hoping will draw somebody’s eyes in, or, “Can I post on your page?” Because now it looks like, “Oh, Joe Schmo likes this product.” That’s crap too.

Yeah, the next one, the best one, actually I saved it for last. This one’s cool. “All I want for my birthday is promoters, X promoters, X, you know … ” I’ve seen enough to for, “All I want for Christmas is five more promoters.” Get out of here. That’s just another stupid phrase. What you’re doing is you’re desperate. That’s a desperation move.

Come on, guys. Add value. Why are you doing the business? Because it has some kind of value. What problem are you solving? Is it weight loss? Well then, “I’m going to help you be healthier. I’m going to help you lose fat. I’m going to help you be toned.” You know something. Is it skincare? Does it help with Echinacea, breaking out? Does it help with … You know, whatever it helps with.

Add value that way. Give them facts of how it helps. Don’t just give them a stupid phrase. Hopefully, you guys got value from this.
