Maximizing Your Video Marketing With Proper Phone Techniques
I know we all have seen them and watched them whether it’s a marketing piece or friend or family member posting a video on Facebook or Instagram. And I can bet we have seen some that look great and some that probably shouldn’t have been posted too LOL But, guess what no matter what they all have one thing in common, we watched it because it was a video!!
Videos per one study have the value of 1.8 MILLION words per one minute video!! Now, I know I don’t have the time to type 1,800,000 words out! Using video in your marketing will increase your engagement by approx. 45% over a plain text style message and the average viewer will watch 30+ videos per month. According to the Online Publishers Association 80% of people will recall watching a video and 46% will take action because of that video.
So, with those awesome numbers brings me to today’s topic, “Maximizing Your Video Marketing With Proper Phone Techniques.” Now, your saying what does Zach mean proper phone techniques, well I know we all have seen those videos that are top to bottom on your screen but have tons of dead space on the left and right sides of their video. Well, that’s a simple operator error that has done that to make the video not so appealing to the viewer. The reason they are getting that is covered in the video below:
Now that I have shown you the difference in holding your phone vertically versus horizontally we can see that the clear winner is horizontally. Horizontally gives you a full screen and you have no dead space that makes your videos unappealing to viewers and the full screen draws them in as you capture their attention with your message.
The second part is the sound, while holding your phone you are pretty close to your phone so the microphone that’s built in should be fine, but for better sound quality you can grab a lapel microphone on Amazon for about $20.00 and the quality becomes much clearer as demonstrated in the video above. I have found the lapel mic a big plus in my sound quality in all my videos no matter the distance as I get a much clearer sound and the background noises are almost non-existent with them, so it is another great cheap item to grab to add quality to your video.
Closing today, make sure to hold your phone horizontally when shooting your videos and to get better sound make sure to grab a lapel mic and always a plus is a tri-pod to hold your phone steady while shooting. While keeping my budget in mind I was able to get all 3 pieces: Lapel Mic, tri-pod, and phone adapter for tri-pod for approx. $60.00 now that is an investment that has already paid off in not only quality but in my business as well.
I hope you found value in this toady and if you did would you please comment and share to your team for others to get the value as well.
