Don’t Let Your Affiliate Link Turn Your Audience Into Crickets

We all know we are looking online to drive traffic, attract more viewers, and build a larger customer base! But, what you post has a huge impact on those potential viewers and customers! We have a very, very limited time to grab and keep their attention and your image and link plays a HUGE role into that. I have already talked about how adding an image or video can substantially increase your viewers. But what about that little (ok, some not so little) affiliate link that you use to send them to your page?

Anytime we join an affiliate program or a MLM we are all given a unique affiliate link to track business to us so we get credit for those purchases. You know the link I’m talking about, the YourUsername.AnyCompany.com/ThisOrThat or they can be ridiculously longer too. But, right off the start people know they are being sent to a sells page and unless they already know you, most are not going to follow that sells link. But what if it happen to be ZLoescher.com/FreeOffer You see people are now associating that I am personally sending them to my page for a free offer or you can have anything there you want but, the point is they know me or are following me on social media and see my name in front of a product, offer, or service and trust me! So the likely hood of them checking out my link is much more likely to happen then sending them off to long affiliate link that more than not doesn’t even have your name associated with it. We could probably do a whole blog just on the usernames people have come up with for their “business” affiliate links!! LOL

So, how do you get that nice domain that is attractive and sexy?? First, you will need to decide on your domain name, I would personally suggest branding you, as people want to know who they are working with and like to get to know them and build trust. So, using your name would be my first recommendation or a variation of it if you have a common name.

A huge benefit of using Pretty Links is these links when using the ‘no follow” will not affect your SEO rankings in a negative way as other affiliate links going outside your site will. SEO rankings want to see what’s on your site and not be directed outside it, so using the no follow is a big key in your SEO rankings. And another cool feature that Pretty Links has is they give you the stats for each link your build through it so you can track if it’s working or time to drop it.
