An Entrepreneur’s Mindset Being Held Prisoner In Corporate Greed…
Before you can ever break out of the corporate prison, you have to realize you are locked up and being controlled!
There are two types of people in today’s world the 9-5 jobbers and the entrepreneurs, but within one of those is a varying degree of levels. Well, you probably have already guessed I’m not talking about the entrepreneur, even though there can be many levels there as well depending on their mindset. I’m talking about that 95-‘er 40 by 40 person.
I already know and have heard the excuses to have the 9-5 and hey I’m not going to argue your excuse because that has already proved your mindset is not right to be an entrepreneur! You like to call it security but I see it as a prison!
Hey, I was there too, until I woke up and realized that I can’t truly get what I want without being an entrepreneur. I did the 72 hour weeks, yes that was NOT a typo. I spent almost 20 years being a First Responder and worked many 24 hour shifts where depending on how the schedule fell certain weeks we worked 3 24 hour shifts (i.e. 72 hours) in one week, the other weeks was 48 hours!! I’ve been there, I’ve done it!
I was a prisoner within a company(ies) that their main focus was making a better bottom dollar, then they would consider an employee’s thoughts somewhere down the line. What do I mean by a prisoner to corporate greed? Well, tell me the last time you said I am taking these days off to spend with my kids and you didn’t have to ask your boss or manager for approval? When was the last time you took as long of a lunch as you wanted?? Or how about breaks that you came back when you felt ready too?? Yes, see you have had to ask for permission or they was already a certain time you could be gone on all those and I haven’t even touched on the biggest one yet!! When was the last time you took a vacation without asking and still making a residual income from your J.O.B.??
You know you’re a prisoner of corporate greed when you get told how much someone else thinks your time is worth! No matter how much, or how hard, or how much you get done, or even how much your help others, you still do NOT decide your pay rate!! That my friend is a prisoner of the corporate greed system! Of course they will never pay you what you are worth, that will affect their bottom dollar!! Yes, you can bargain for a pay raise, did you know my 3 years at one big corporate job, my combined pay raise for those years was less than 5%. They based it on their thoughts of me, even though my yearly reviews were all high marks. I didn’t get a say in it at all. That my friends is a prisoner of corporate greed!
You see corporate greed has no place in entrepreneurship because your income is solely based off how hard and how much you work! And now you are saying “HAHA Zach, see you have to work more to make more.” Well, let me tell you that is not the case at all, it’s called working smarter! Just like your boss, or manager, or the owner they delegated the work to you so it freed up their time, so they could spend more time doing what they wanted to! That is exactly how an entrepreneur thinks too, what can I do to better benefit my income and free up my time.
As I mentioned earlier being an entrepreneur takes a different mindset but, it is one that can be learned and can be changed into a very successful entrepreneur over time. As an entrepreneur we build from personal development and mindset trainings, we learn from industry leaders that are where we want to be. We invest in trainings, in coaching, in materials. We invest in ourselves to better serve our tribes and follows. We provide them the value and the problem solving they desire. When was the last time at your J.O.B. that you invested in training(s) to better your life and business?? You want to be successful right? Well, you have to Invest in trainings, Learn from those trainings, and Teach what you have learned to others. When we as entrepreneurs do these things the income just becomes secondary!
You see a 9-5’er is NEVER taught these skills because in the corporate greed system, your boss, manager, chief, or higher-ups do NOT want you to be a threat to their position. So, the trainings an entrepreneur would embrace are almost discouraged in the corporate word! The only typical training in corporate is how to do your given job better so the higher-ups do not have to worry about doing it and they can pay you less while they take more time for themselves!! Is that really what you want for the rest of your life??
I hope this opened your eyes and maybe even provoked some anger. The simple fact is we as entrepreneurs have a better way of life. I’d invite you to reach out to me and look at changing not only your future, but your families’ future, and beyond!
