“Are You Stuck In The 9-5 Mentality?”

You know that mentality that I’m talking about the go to school, get a good education to get a good job. But, what they left out was get a good job to pay back that good education. You see, when you are stuck in the 40×40 Mentality, you are going to be a slave for those 40+ years working what use to be 40 hour work weeks now is more like 45-50 or more.

The problem with that mentality is once we are in that groove very few will take the steps to achieve the goals and vision they have. Notice I didn’t say “dreams” anyone can dream, we as little kids dream. A Vison is actually putting a plan into action on how you are going to achieve those goals and the vision you have. Rarely are they truly achievable when we settle into the 9-5 mentality. Whether your goals are more vacation, more family time, a new vehicle, or maybe a new house. In the 9-5 mentality you are going to have to hope there is a lot of overtime or pick-up a second job somewhere else taking even more time away from what you want.

You see when you get out of that rut of the 9-5 and start opening up your mind to the possibilities of how real your vision and goals are then you will see that you were being held back. When you take the steps to change your mindset to that of the entrepreneurship mindset you will see how free you will feel and what is possible. Entrepreneurship is a work ethic that works when you work and is based off your actions. Many people will try and convince you that being an entrepreneur requires many hours of your time and you work more than a 9-5 J.O.B. Well, that is a twofold answer really, sure we technically work more due to the fact that I am always working and looking to expand my businesses just like any other entrepreneur would be but, our time is also used in a very productive way that is duplicable for others as well. A prime example is this article, from start to posting will take me about 1-2 hours but once completed and posted will be up and working for me for the days and years to come.

You see as Entrepreneurs we take our time serious and want it to pay off for a long time after a project is completed unlike when you clock in at the 9-5 those given hours are either shut it off till the next business day or pass it on to the next person coming in to take over. Plus, as an entrepreneur we are continually learning and building our knowledge base through personal development and growth along with multiple webinars to expand your knowledge of marketing and networking. I would easily say that outside my 30 minutes every morning of personal growth, I spend another 10-15 hours weekly learning from coaching to educational programs. Think, when was the last time your employer invested time and money in you as a person to better you? No employer is going to invest in your personal growth unless it directly will improve your work at a given company.

We as entrepreneurs have to Invest, Learn, and Teach to grow as a person and leader. We invest in coaching, in training programs, in events, in personal development, and much more so that we can Learn and then teach others. Entrepreneurship is a mindset that not only will improve your business but the tools learned can be transferred to virtually any facet of your life.

Go out there Invest in yourself, Learn it, and go out and Teach others what you have learned!
